1 Overview

1.1 Introduction

bxp software (bxp) is an exceptionally flexible platform and we delight in seeing how it is used and grown by clients. Sometimes there comes occasion where a tweak, new function, custom training or new project warrants change in a system. So there needs to be a formal structure and approach to how this development and change is managed.

We need to start by defining events that can happen.

  • Content Development
  • Framework Development
  • Training
  • Security
  • Support

The next important thing is to define what is billable and what is not billable.

For each of the above combinations, we provide worked examples below.

1.2 Initial System hours

When a client starts with their new system they can be at different levels of experience, knowledge and comfort. For this reason we afford a generous amount of initial time which can be applied in whatever way the client would like. All n One closely record all of the time spent so there is an accurate record always available. This is done through the Time and Working Hour tracking module of bxp.

After the initial hours have been used further hours can be purchased and applied as the client requires.

1.3 Development Approach

Based on a business model of fairness, change has benefits for one or both sides of the arrangement. We reflect this in our pricing models.

  • If the development will only benefit you, then the price will be borne wholly by you.
  • If the development has direct identified benefit for other clients, then All n One will propose a 50:50 development share. For this All n One assume 50% of the development cost and you pay the other 50%.

We log all our good ideas and suggestions from clients and these are put onto our future development list. Those ideas will be developed in time at no cost but the delay can be up to two years and paid client development work will always be prioritised.

1.4 Rates

Our hourly development rate from January 2023

  • A discounted Pre-Paid rate, where you pay prior to the delivery of the development at €145 per hour.
  • A Post Paid rate, your normal 30 day credit terms apply at €165 per hour.
  • Both of the above attract VAT at the prevailing rate (currently 23%)

2 Events

2.1 Content Development

Content is anything that can be loaded, created or changed through the bxp interface. Any of this work can be done by you. For any reason you need All n One to do the work for you, this is called Content Development.

Examples of Content Development include:

  • Building Forms
  • Building eCourses
  • Creating eCourse content
  • Adding users
  • Loading data into forms
  • Fixing custom made JavaScript

All work of this type is charged per hour or part there of.

  • If you add content yourself, this is not billable.
  • If you request All n One to add content for you, this is billable.

2.2 Framework Development

Framework is any of the code or functionality in bxp that is used by end users but cannot be modified except by All n One staff. Modules, sections, functions and system logic are all managed by the All n One Framework department and this type of work is called Framework Development.

Examples of Framework Development include:

  • Creating new modules
  • Creating new functions
  • Creating new report functionality
  • Modifying how existing functionality operates
  • Extending functionality of existing functions
  • Modifying centralised system libraries to make functionality available globally within the system

All of this type of work is billable. For this reason, we need to have a very formal project development approach to these requests. We operate a number of project templates depending on the scale and nature of the work requested. Where there is a significant amount of development this work will be collaborated on by the Project department.

2.3 Training

All n One pride ourselves on our ability to help and support. Training is no exception and is a key element of support and development. There is usually a grading of levels of training required.

  • Small: Quick one line answer to simple queries
  • Medium: Will require some training between 5 and 30 minutes
  • Large: Requires a long training session 30 minutes to 4 hours
  • Epic: Requires 4 hours+

Training and support can be intrinsically linked especially for smaller items, so All n One provide free of charge:

  • In-line training reminders and notes throughout the system
  • Our Wixi has articles of varying sizes to support all levels
  • On the Wixi our Learning Department has made available formal training courses under each of our pillars of delivery Training
  • For very large training sessions, our Scenarios address numerous aspects of operation include strategic and managerial planning Scenarios

All n One also recognise that sometimes a quick chat can solve issues. For any query that can be solved very quickly (less than 15 minutes) over the phone we will not charge for this support.

All n One's preferred method of delivering training is using Cisco Webex. Alternately tools such as Adobe Connect or TeamViewer can also be used. Training is charged at the per hour rate.

All n One, based in Ballymount, Dublin, also have a full classroom and operational call centre facility to host training. You and your team can come on site and be trained in a more traditional classroom based approach. Training is charged at the per hour rate. The facilities are not charged for.

If you require All n One to come and train on your site, then this can also be facilitated. Due to the nature of the displacement there are a number of other costs to be considered when doing on-site training:

  • Training is charged at the per hour rate.
  • Travel to and from the site is charged at the per hour rate.
  • In addition, Train and Plane and related Car Parking / Taxi costs will be charged
  • Subsistence at Irish Government rates will be applied where overnight accommodation or meals are required. [1]

2.4 Security

All n One are very conscious of security and the complexities thereof. For companies that are fortunate to have security departments a lot of the background work and checking can be implemented with no cost incurred from All n One. All of the pertinent security information is available from Security_-_Start_Here

All n One perform numerous security checks on a regular basis as part of the delivery of our service. These are internal checks and are not available to our clients.

An optional part of the security service All n One offers, is to produce on your behalf a security report to help identify potential security issues and assist your System Champion in the delivery of the bxp service. The generation of the reports is a chargeable activity. For more information on this report please click here. Bxp_-_Client_Security_Report

2.5 Support

There are many ways of getting support about the bxp solution. Understanding_bxp_Support

Determining the root cause of the requirement of support is the primary focus of the All n One Contact department. A clear triage process is applied to all customer support requests. Bxp_Support_Triage_Process

If the issue is found to be an All n One fault then All n One will assume the cost for its solving. If the issue is found to be a client requirement then a number of options will be presented back. The options will be:

  • A Wixi article / document which will explain the resolution of the issue
  • A Content development solution which will see the All n One team implement the solution
  • A Frameworks development solution which will see the All n One team implement the solution
  • A Projects development solution which can include any combination of solutions

3 All n One Terminology

Every item of work to be done is created initially as a Ticket in the All n One bxp system. Each ticket is then scoped and refined into separate Jobs.

A number of All n One departments may be involved in various phases of development and support. These departments are detailed here All_n_One_Departments
