1 Overview

BXP does not support directly attaching files to emails generated by the system, however you can instead upload files that are intended for download to the dedicated storage folder of your BXP system and link these for download in your email instead. This article will cover how to do step-by-step.

2 Process

2.1 Upload the File

The First step in this process is to upload the file to your BXP System's Custom Folder, a dedicated storage space for your system. This can be done using the Custom Folder File Uploader utility which can be found under the System Access Management module of BXP via the navigation path below.

Main Menu > System Access Management > System Management > Custom Folder - File Upload

To upload a file, click on the "Choose File" button and then navigate to the location on your local device that the file is stored in and select it before clicking "Open", or double click on it. Afterward, click on the Upload File Button to begin the transfer. Please be patient with the upload process as it may take some time if the file is large.

Please note that files uploaded to the custom folder are uploaded to the "Web Tier" of BXP, this means any files here are publicly downloadable by anyone who has a link to the file, even those without a BXP Login.

For more information on the Custom Folder, see our dedicated article here.

2.2 Embed Download Link into Email

Once you have your file uploaded to the server, copy the link that is displayed on screen, this link will allow anyone who has it to download the file from the BXP infrastructure.

Paste the link into the body of your email template. You can do this as raw text or using a HTML href tag.
