Field mapping is the mechanism by which bxp software can map maps its data fields to the fields in your systemform. bxp software will call designates fields using its own unique nomenclature. e.g. strCDA_41_field_3_1strCDA_41_field_1_3. This to bxp software means campaign (Campaign database 41 , field 1, subpart 3). So in In BE this would be represents the surname in a complex title block and accessing the surname part (0 = title, 1 = first name, 2 = initial, 3 = surname). Your report / system would probably prefer Clearly, it’s easier for us to see "understand Surname". Field so field mapping allows you to tell BE that strCDA_41_field_3_1 = Surname.

All reports, searches and displays back to the agent, where export and import of data is concerned will use your name rather than the BE name. Hence which is why this setup part of the set-up is so important.
