Overview
eCourses are books with material in them in bxp and are the basis of the eLearning capability of bxp. What_is_an_eCourse
bxp uses a specific type of searching called LiveSearch in a number of areas including eCourse. LiveSearch allows a user to begin typing into a text box and the search results are displayed and refreshed with each key press. This kind of searching is typically seen in search engines.
Often videos or pictures are not searchable, so bxp has a number of ways of compensating / working around this challenge. ECourse_-_Making_File_Assets_Searchable
There are three areas where a user can search dynamically for an eCourse. There is a single book search page, a multi book search page and a new interface bar which can be added to a user's homepage.
So once there's material in the books, the next important thing is allowing people to be able to search the materials. There are a few different ways of searching for material. ECourse_-_Multiple_Book_Search
==Single Book Search==There can be instances where putting a search bar in somewhere other than the system areas can be useful. For this reason a new Interface Bar has been added to the system.
When searching we've also enhanced the search capability to include our AJAX LiveSearch capabilities, which now adds two new search options in the eCourse module.   LiveSearch allows a user to begin typing into a text box and the search results are displayed and refreshed with each key press. This kind of searching is typically seen in search engines.   = New Types =  == Single Book Search ==  The single book dynamic search function will allow a user to pick a book and then search the contents dynamically. This page can be accessed by navigating to <b  Main Menu >eCourse -> Read -> Search a Book - Dynamic</b>
Multi Book Search
The multi book search function works in the exact same way as the single book search function. Navigate to <b>eCourse -> Read -> Search Multiple Books - Dynamic</b>. Select all of the eCourses that you want to search on and then click on the "Search Books" button. The next page will allow the user to search by typing into the text box. All of the results will be displayed in a table underneath the text box.
Main Menu > eCourse > Read > Search Multiple Books - Dynamic
Select all of the eCourses that you want to search on and then click on the "Search Books" button. The next page will allow the user to search by typing into the text box. All of the results will be displayed in a table underneath the text box.   ==Dynamic Ecourse eCourse Interface Bar==
