1 Overview
Realex payments have recently updated the security of their payment interface.
While this does not affect the more modern browsers such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, it does affect Internet Explorer versions 6 through 10.
2 Browser Fixes
The update to Realex means that the browser needs to support TLS 1.2. All browsers above Internet Explorer 8 support TLS 1.2 but it is not always turned on.
In order to fix this, a setting needs to be enabled in the browser.
3 Internet Explorer 9, 10 and 11
In order to enable TLS 1.2 in Internet Explorer go to browser settings.
Find the settings / tools option.
Select internet options.
Select the Advanced tab and scroll down to the security options and find TLS 1.2.
Make sure that TLS 1.2 is ticked.
4 Alternative Options
If issues still persist making payments with Realex using Internet Explorer then consider downloading another browser.
