1 Introduction

An asset is a piece of data, or a file, that contains information that you wish to communicate to another user in the bxp software system. It could be a piece of text, a MS Office (Word, Excel Powerpoint), an image or a video. Assets are only available for use when attached to a page in an eCourse

PLEASE NOTE: This article assumes that the reader has already created an eCourse, with a Book, chapter and page in place. Please have a look through these links; Module eCourse and eCourse Knowledgbase for more information on eCourses and how they are created. To add an Asset to an eCourse, you must have edit access to the Book in question.

2 How to Add an Asset

  1. Open the eCourse File:eCourse icon.png Module
  2. Go to Read a Book | Select the book in question
  3. Expand the chapter in question | click on the page that you want to attach the asset to.
  4. Towards the bottom of the screen there are two buttons that are used here
  5. Click "Add Text to this Page" if all you want to is add plain text to the page. You can also use this to insert web links
  6. If you want to upload a file, click "Add Media to This Page" | click 'Browse' | select the file you want to upload from your computer | click "Upload File"

Now anyone that you have granted at least Read access to for the Book, will be able to view the asset
